Bogachev, head of the Suzhansky District, Kursk Region, announced his resignation


Alexander Bogachev, the head of the Sujansky district in Kursk region, officially announced on Wednesday, November 20, that he was resigning his powers.
"After reflection and a conversation with the governor [of Kursk region Alexei Smirnov], I have decided to resign as head of the district. This is not an easy step for me, but I am sure that in this I am also acting in the interests of all the residents of our district. I tried to do what I could and should", - he wrote in his Telegram-channel.
The official thanked the residents of Sujan district for their support and criticism. Bogachev emphasized that all decisions made by the authorities should be aimed at the well-being of the residents of Kursk region, and especially its border region.
The outgoing head of the district wished Smirnov success and fruitful work, and drew attention to the dedication of his team. Bogachev expressed confidence that the residents of Sujan district and the entire region will survive this difficult period together with the whole country, and assured that he will remain in Kursk region and will help his fellow countrymen.
Earlier, on November 12, a video appeared in social networks, on which the residents of Sujansky district gathered in the concert hall to communicate with representatives of regional authorities and negatively met Bogachev when he appeared on stage.
Later that day, the head of the district confirmed in a conversation with Izvestia that Smirnov had announced during his speech to the residents in that hall that he was dismissing him from his post. At the same time, Bogachev said that he did not know why such a decision had been made. He held his post since September 2019.
