- Krasnov suggested reforming the coordination council of prosecutors of CIS countries

Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov at a meeting with his Uzbek counterpart Nigmatilla Yuldashev on November 20 suggested reforming the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of CIS member states (CCGP).
"The vector of development of Russian-Uzbekistan prosecutorial cooperation, defined during our meeting in Moscow in April this year, as well as at the meetings of prosecutors general of the SCO and CCCG member states, fully meets the long-term guidelines outlined by the leaders of Russia and Uzbekistan. I believe that the time has come to reform the USCG," he said.
Krasnov suggested that for "more effective activity of the association and prompt response to common challenges and threats" the secretariat of the CRCG should be expanded with representatives of all prosecutor generals' offices of the commonwealth. He called the participation of representatives of sectoral cooperation bodies in the council's meetings a condition for increasing the practical component.
According to the RF Prosecutor General, the organization of unscheduled meetings of experts within the framework of cooperation between the CIS and SCO countries can give impetus to the exchange of practical experience
Krasnov arrived in Tashkent earlier in the day. Then it was specified that during his visit he will discuss with Yuldashev the main issues of cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Offices of the states.
Before that, on November 15, Krasnov met with Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev at the UN Climate Summit (COP29) in Baku. The head of the Russian agency agreed with the initiative of his Azerbaijani colleagues to increase the intensity of work of law enforcers in the fight against climate change. Krasnov is confident that the potential of the prosecutor's office will be in demand in solving such tasks.
