Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko has advised Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin to pay tax for living in an unregistered house. She said this on November 20 during the government hour in the upper house.

Khusnullin admitted that he did not pay the residence tax because he could not connect to the transformer substation for a long time, and legally his house was not completed. He said that he connected the house to electricity as a construction site and started living in it.

Matvienko noted that the deputy prime minister raised an important topic - the untimely registration of houses built.

"People live, they don't pay taxes. But since you have publicly admitted that you have lived in an unregistered house for eight years, you will have to pay taxes retroactively. Set an example for the rest of us," - addressed to Khusnullin, Chairman of the SF.

Earlier in the day it became known that the State Duma deputies introduce a bill, thanks to which the period of ownership of real estate, after which you can not pay personal income tax on income from its sale, will be reduced from five to three years. It is specified that if the residential property was received by a person from an individual as a result of a gift, with the conclusion of the relevant agreement, or inheritance, the term will be reduced to one year.
