- The State Duma spoke out about the possibility of talks between Putin and Trump on Ukraine

Talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and newly elected US President Donald Trump on Ukraine and other international issues are possible. This opinion was expressed by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs, Aleksey Chepa, on Wednesday, November 20.
He recalled that earlier Trump said that these contacts will be, and the parties will touch upon the acute topics of the Middle East, Iran and Ukraine.
"Who will be the initiator, I do not know, but it is not so important, because we initially talked about these problems. Since 2021 we have written, talked about it, we continue to talk about it. We also insisted on the implementation of the Minsk agreements, on attempts at other agreements, which were broken by France, Britain, and Germany. Then they themselves confessed to it, and the administration of [US President Joe] Biden persistently manipulated it all," the MP explained in a conversation with Lenta.Ru.
The parliamentarian believes that the new U.S. administration will agree to resolve these issues, it will improve the international situation.
Earlier in the day, Bloomberg agency wrote that Trump may soon hold talks with Putin on the Ukrainian conflict, reports 360.ru.
In addition, the authors of the article spoke out about the authorization of the current US President Joe Biden to strike the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) deep into the Russian Federation with American weapons, reports NSN. Thus, the agency recalled the recent words of the son of the Republican politician Donald Trump - the younger, in which he accused the American side in the escalation of the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, the military-industrial complex wants to make sure that it can start a war.
The agency also suggested that such a decision could serve as an attempt to spoil Trump's chances of resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
Earlier, on November 18, the head of the European Union (EU) diplomatic service, Josep Borrell, confirmed that the US administration had lifted restrictions on US missile strikes up to 300 km deep into Russian territory. At the same time, Deputy National Security Advisor to the US President John Feiner did not confirm that Washington had given such authorization to Kiev. The official emphasized that the White House bases its decisions on the situation on the battlefield.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova emphasized that Kiev's possible use of long-range missiles for such purposes would receive an "adequate and tangible" response. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitriy Peskov, commenting on the possible permission for Ukraine to use ATACMS for strikes on Russian territory, pointed out that such a move by the USA would become a qualitatively new round of tension.
In his turn, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that what is happening creates the danger of a world war. Later, former CIA analyst Raymond McGovern assessed such a move by the USA as desperation and recklessness.
Ukraine's allies do not expect that the U.S. authorization to strike deep into Russia with long-range weapons will fundamentally change the balance of power on the battlefield,Gazeta.Ruadded. According to Bloomberg's interlocutors, officials do not believe that the U.S. decision will change the balance in the conflict, in which Ukrainian troops have been losing ground in recent months.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022. The decision to carry it out was made by the Russian president due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
