Over 1,000 applications were received for the Russian national award Russian Creative Awards 2024, which annually recognizes the best projects in the creative industries. The award is organized by the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization "Creative Economy".

The application campaign for the selection was held on the official website of the award and ended on November 18. The most popular nominations among the applicants were "Creative project developing rural areas", "Creative project developing the city" and "Educational project". Also among the most popular among the authors is a special nomination for young artists of culture, art and creative industries.

The largest number of announced projects is related to the film and video industry, fine arts and DPI, performing arts. The authors of the projects represent more than 60 regions of Russia, and five of the applied projects united representatives of several subjects. The most active were applicants from Moscow, the Republic of Bashkortostan and St. Petersburg. The Grand Jury, which included recognized masters of media, art, culture, education, architecture, IT and other creative industries, will determine the winners in 12 nominations. The jury members also had the right to nominate projects independently.

Among the members of the grand jury this year are Igor Butman, People's Artist of the Russian Federation, Svetlana Balanova, Director General of the National Media Group, Anton Zlatopolsky, Deputy Director General of VGTRK, Alexander Zharov, Director General of Gazprom-Media Holding, Alexei Goreslavsky, Director General of IRI, Roman Karmanov, Director General of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, Vladimir Legoyda, a church and public figure, writers Sergei Lukyanenko and Alexander Tsypkin and others.

This year's projects will also be evaluated by a large jury according to a new criterion - the translation of values, said Marina Mongush (Abramova), director of the Russian Creative Awards, president of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization "Creative Economy":

"Traditional values are not just a phrase used in official documents, they are the value of life, community, strong family, joint labor. We realize that any creative product carries certain values, meanings, ideas, and, in our opinion, today it is very important to take this into account, that is why this selection criterion was created".

The navigating role of the Russian Creative Awards was emphasized by Alexei Goreslavsky, Director General of the Institute for Internet Development, who joined this year's grand jury:

"We all live in the world of creative content and consume it in large volumes. According to Mediascope, on average, every Russian spends about four hours a day on his or her cell phone alone - and all this time is somehow in contact with content. And then there is the growing consumption of content on streaming services, video games, TV... The Russian Creative Awards act as a navigator in this stream: what is important and necessary for people now, what we offer and will offer to young people and children, what content is worth the viewer's attention. We have received more than 1 thousand really interesting projects to analyze, from which we will try to choose the best".

The awarding of the finalists and winners of the Russian Creative Awards will take place on November 29 in the Moscow concert hall "Zaryadye".
