- Mishustin announced the development of the transportation industry in the face of sanctions

Despite the pressure of sanctions, Russia's transport industry continues to develop, with passenger and freight transportation maintaining positive dynamics this year. This was announced by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a plenary discussion at Transport Week - 2024 on November 20.
"Growth for nine months at the level of approximately 3.6%. Such results indicate high adaptability of all types of transportation, sustainability of their work," he said.
However, Mishustin noted that the cardinal changes that have taken place in international logistics have caused a decline in some segments. According to him, this is due to the refusal of foreign cruise companies to visit Russian ports.
The Prime Minister recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed to the need to build up the capabilities of the transportation complex so that "it becomes more efficient, more modern". Since the growth of industry, tourism, trade turnover and strengthening of the entire national economy largely depends on the quality of its work, Mishustin specified.
"We allocate serious, significant funds for the development of the industry, for the creation of the necessary infrastructure in the regions. The volume of annual financing of all planned activities, within the framework of the relevant state program is more than one and a half trillion rubles," - summed up the politician.
On the same day, Mishustin spoke about plans to supply airlines with the MS-21 airplane. According to him, preparations for the launch of serial production are currently being finalized.
