A man in Ulyanovsk sentenced to 1.5 years for attacking a flower seller

A resident of Ulyanovsk, who beat up an elderly woman selling flowers near a grocery store, was sentenced to 1.5 years of correctional labor. This was reported on November 20 by the Prosecutor's Office of the Ulyanovsk region.

Zasviyazhsky district court found the 46-year-old defendant guilty under paragraph "a" of part 1 of article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Hooliganism with the use of violence against citizens"). The regional Prosecutor's office insisted on a sentence of 4.5 years of penal colony to the man.

"It is established that at night on September 22, 2024 near one of the houses on the Avenue of the 50th anniversary of VLKSM non-working K. gratuitously struck an elderly woman with his hands several blows on the face," - reported in the Telegram-channel of the department.

The court agreed with the evidence presented, but appointed the defendant 1.5 years of compulsory labor with deduction of 10% of the salary to the income of the state.

Before that, on September 28, eyewitnesses shared in the Network footage of the attack on a pensioner in Ulyanovsk. They show how a man approaches an elderly woman sitting at the door of the grocery store and gives her several blows to the face, after which the victim grabs her head and tries to get up, then the man hits her again and leaves.

Later, the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk reported about the arrest of the attacker. He turned out to be a 46-year-old resident of Mainsky district of Ulyanovsk region. A criminal case was opened under Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Hooliganism").

The next day, pensioner Valentina, who had suffered from the man's attack, told Izvestia that she had not received any serious injuries that could have caused problems for her health. The woman described the attacker as "an abnormal or socially maladapted person." According to her, the man simply attacked her, but before that he had slashed tires on the cars of local residents, for which he had already been reported.
