The crew of the Su-34 multirole supersonic fighter-bomber of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) carried out an airstrike on personnel, armored vehicles and a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 20.

"The strike was carried out on reconnaissance targets with aviation bombs with a universal planning and correction module (UMPK)," the ministry said in a statement.

When reconnaissance confirmed that all intended targets were successfully destroyed, the airplane crew returned safely to the departure airfield.

Russian Defense Ministry footage shows the Su-34 preparing for departure and dropping the UMPK in the sky.

The day before, on November 19, the ministry showed the combat work of crews of Mi-28NM and Ka-52M helicopters, which, accompanied by a Mi-8PSG helicopter, struck at AFU manpower, armored vehicles and vehicles in the Kursk border area. The strike was carried out to support the ground grouping of the Russian Armed Forces (AF). All targets were hit.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
