The authorities of the Lipetsk region will purchase street shelters for the cities of the region. This was announced by Governor Igor Artamonov during a direct line, the press service of the regional government reported on Wednesday, November 20.

Such a decision was made at a meeting of the operative staff, writes GOROD48. The shelters will be purchased against the background of statements that the West will allow Ukraine to use long-range missiles to strike deep into Russia.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that, according to The Times, the administration of current U.S. President Joe Biden has allowed strikes by British long-range Storm Shadow missiles deep into Russian territory.

At the same time, according to the publication, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's position on the use of such missiles has changed. Until this moment, in September, he ruled out such a decision. In August, The Times reported that the UK could not authorize Ukraine to strike Russian territory with these missiles because of the US ban.

The West has stepped up its military and financial support for Kiev amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
