The heads of the G20 countries did not pay attention to the acting American President Joe Biden during the summit in Brazil. This was reported by The New York Times on November 19.

The material notes that at the summit Biden seemed isolated from other leaders. In particular, by the time he approached the platform for a group photo, the other participants have already left it, and he did not get in the picture.

The newspaper notes that despite the fact that this was one of the last opportunities for the American leader to speak out and promote his ideas, many participants of the summit simply did not listen to him and were more interested in the ideas of the newly elected US President Donald Trump.

The day before, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on the absence of the American leader in the photo taken at the summit. She said that Western politicians, having failed to "make a circus" with the organization of a joint photo at the summit of the "group of twenty" in Rio de Janeiro, decided simply not to appear in it.

Before that, on November 18, Biden did not walk the red carpet at the G20 summit, as other leaders did, but chose his own way. The US President, stepping out of his car, instead of walking past the honor guard, turned aside along with the protocol accompanying him.

The G20 summit was held on November 18-19 in the Brazilian capital and was dedicated to "building a just world and a sustainable planet." The Russian delegation was headed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
