- Russian women told about important skills of children and their priorities in upbringing

More than 60% of surveyed mothers in Russia named psychological stability and self-confidence as the most important skills for their child's future adult life. This is stated in the results of the survey conducted by Ozon experts on Mother's Day. "Izvestia" got acquainted with the information on November 24.
At the same time, every second (54%) woman noted the importance of communication skills, and more than 40% of respondents - financial literacy skills: knowledge of the basics of money management and budget planning.
In addition, every second woman (54%) prioritizes education and training of the child. And 53% of respondents highlighted physical health as a priority aspect of upbringing. Almost half of mothers (47%) emphasized the development of independence and discipline. More than 44% of respondents attached special importance to the psychological health of the child, and every fifth - to emotional development (22%) and cultural education (17%).
According to the majority of survey participants (52%), the most difficult aspect of motherhood is often establishing rules and boundaries in raising a child. Thus, respondents said that sometimes it is difficult to find a balance between freedom and discipline - you want your child to feel free, but it is important to establish rules. The second place is occupied by maintaining the child's psychological comfort (45%), followed by motivation to study and additional education (41%). At the same time, three out of 10 mothers find it difficult to find time and energy for upbringing in general.
As follows from the survey results, women most often turn to their mothers or grandmothers for advice on child-rearing - every third (33%) does so. At the same time, 18% primarily pay attention to the advice of professionals - teachers, psychologists, and every tenth relies on scientific studies and articles.
Earlier, on October 25, child psychologist Svetlana Pulya named "Izvestia" the reasons why children may not be interested in learning. They may include lack of motivation, fear of failure, self-esteem problems, lack of support or overload. The expert advised to try to understand the reason for a child's reluctance to study and create more comfortable conditions for learning.
