Forest restoration plan exceeded in Priangarie

The Irkutsk Region summarizes the results of the forestry season. High results were recorded in the field of artificial reforestation.

The work was carried out on the area of 21.7 thousand hectares. This is 3.3 thousand hectares more than planned. In addition, this year it was possible to form a stock of seeds of forest plants in the amount of 12 tons and grow 76.6 million pieces of planting material.

IA IrkutskMedia with reference to the regional government writes that the acceptance of measures on natural reforestation has not been completed yet. This year they are planned to be carried out on the area exceeding 156 thousand hectares. As of November 20, the plan is 97% complete.

Artificial reforestation has exceeded the planned indicators. Thus, it was carried out on the area of 21.7 thousand hectares instead of 18.4 thousand hectares. This is 117.9%. Agrotechnical and silvicultural maintenance was also performed in excess of the plan: instead of 57 thousand hectares, the work was carried out on the area of 70.9 thousand hectares.

In order to increase the productivity of forests and preserve their useful functions this year, measures are planned to take care of young trees.

The Agency specifies that since the implementation of the federal program "Forest Conservation" of the national project "Ecology" from 2019 in Priangarie reforestation was carried out on the area of 940.3 thousand hectares. Every year exceeding the established plans is recorded.

The insect poses a threat to coniferous trees, especially fir. The area of the phytosanitary zone is 1.3 thousand hectares. The quarantine zone covers the territory of Shelekhovskoye lesnichestvo with the area of 198 hectares.
