The Russian Armed Forces have completed the destruction of the Ukrainian military group blocked near Olgovska Grove in Kursk Region. This was reported by the Defense Ministry on November 20.
"The destruction of the AFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine. - Ed.) grouping blocked near Olgovskaya grove has been completed," the report said.
During the day, the enemy lost more than 400 servicemen, six infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), including one German-made Marder IFV, four armored personnel carriers, a Bogdana self-propelled artillery unit (SAU), a UK-made AS-90 SAU, an electronic warfare station and 20 vehicles. In addition, 11 Ukrainian military personnel surrendered as prisoners of war.
In total, the Ukrainian army lost more than 34,390 servicemen during the fighting in the Kursk direction.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Defense Ministry said that the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and cannon systems (SAMS) are on round-the-clock combat duty and monitor the airspace above the Russian Armed Forces positions in the border areas of the Kursk region. The agency also showed the work of the combat equipment.
Ukrainian militants attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. An operation to destroy the AFU is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
