A criminal case on bribery was initiated against the former deputy head of Karelia


Law enforcement authorities have opened a criminal case against the former deputy head of Karelia's internal policy Vladimir Lyubarsky, who is suspected of taking a bribe on a particularly large scale. This was reported on November 20 by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the republic.
It is established that in the period from 2017 to 2022, the figure received a bribe of 37 million rubles from representatives of a commercial enterprise through an intermediary. In turn, the suspect was to provide the company with advantages in the conclusion of contracts with health care institutions for the provision of services for the organization of therapeutic catering and in the acceptance of completed work.
"At the place of residence of the defendant, as well as in other premises of interest to the investigation searches were made, during which large sums of money were seized," - stated in the Telegram-channel of the agency.
At the moment, the issue of selecting a measure of restraint for the man is being decided.
Earlier, on November 1, a criminal case about a bribe of 74 million rubles was initiated against a high-ranking representative of the subordinate service of the Ministry of Transport. The defendant promised patronage and connivance in the interests of a commercial organization. The Investigative Committee conducted searches at the place of residence of the suspect. The investigation into the criminal case is continuing.
