A new beekeeping technology is being developed in Primorsky Krai. It is being adapted to the peculiarities of the local climate. Employees of the Far East Scientific Center of Agrobiotechnologies are engaged in the creation of the manual.

PrimaMedia IA with reference to the regional agency for beekeeping writes that all the information will be collected in a methodical manual for beekeepers. It is to be published in February 2025.

The agency notes that this will be the first such work for the last 50 years, in which experts will describe all aspects and nuances of beekeeping in Primorsky Krai. According to the head of the agency Ramil Enikeev, the development of beekeeping is impossible without a scientific approach.

Now in Primorye there are about 1.7 thousand apiaries, which employ more than 6 thousand people. The head of the region Oleg Kozhemyako earlier said that Primorye is among the leaders of Russia in honey collection. The main task is to increase the production of ecologically clean honey for export.

This season the region has collected about 4 thousand tons of honey. Most of it is linden honey. According to the head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture Andrei Bronts, the plan is to increase production, develop industrial beekeeping, and enter new domestic and foreign markets.

In October, nutritionist Natalya Kruglova said that honey cannot replace full treatment for flu and colds because it contains few organic substances. According to her, honey is useful for disease prevention: enzymes contained in the product will help protect against viruses.
