A photo with German Chancellor Scholz was found in the possession of the person who was preparing a terrorist attack in Kaliningrad

German citizen Nikolai Gaiduk, who was preparing a terrorist attack on power facilities in Kaliningrad, has a photo in which he is pictured with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. As "Izvestia" found out, the photo was found in the phone of the detained man on November 20.

In the photo, the German politician is standing next to the Ukrainian saboteur.

The circumstances under which the photo was taken are not known, as well as whether Scholz was aware that he was being photographed with a terrorist.

Hajduk has been a citizen of the FRG for many years. At the same time, his neighbors have stated that they do not know such a person. To talk about his life in Europe to law enforcement officers, the detainee did not want to.

Earlier in the day, the Federal Security Service of Russia reported that a man was detained in the Kaliningrad region on the border with Poland, who was preparing a terrorist attack on energy facilities. During the search of his car they found a bottle with a liquid, which turned out to be an explosive substance, documents in the name of Nikolai Gaiduk and money.

The detainee has repeatedly tried to enter the region to sabotage energy facilities, and has been cooperating with Ukrainian intelligence for almost a year. He was involved in an explosion at a gas distribution station in Kalinigrad in March. Under interrogation, the man admitted that he was recruited by a retired Odessa police lieutenant colonel. According to Gaiduk, he agreed to cooperate under the pretext of helping to end the conflict.
