The Russian military has launched strikes on Ukrainian militants' airfields and energy facilities used by the Ukrainian military-industrial complex (MIC). This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 20.

"The infrastructure of military airfields, energy facilities used for the operation of Ukrainian military-industrial complex enterprises, warehouses of unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as concentrations of enemy manpower and military equipment in 139 areas were hit," the statement said.

In addition, air defense assets shot down four French-made Hammer guided bombs, a US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher and 141 UAVs of the aircraft type, the ministry added.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Defense Ministry said that the Russian Armed Forces destroyed two enemy howitzers in the Sumy region with Lancet ammunition. The ministry also showed footage of objective control.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
