The Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF) for the city of Moscow has completed the investigation of the criminal case against a man accused of murders committed in 2004 in the east of the capital. This was reported by the agency on November 20.
According to the investigation, on June 14, 2004, the defendant in an inebriated state entered an apartment in Moscow, where his acquaintance lived, gave her multiple blows, stole 200 rubles and fled the scene.
Later, in December 2004, the man committed a similar crime.
"At the initial stage, the attacker could not be identified. However, when conducting additional investigative and procedural actions, as well as expert studies, it was possible to establish the involvement of a 40-year-old resident of the capital in the committed crimes", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the department.
The defendant pleaded guilty during interrogation. He said that he committed crimes to buy alcoholic beverages.
The criminal case was sent to the court for consideration on the merits.
Earlier, on November 13, in Crimea, law enforcers solved the murder of a businessman, committed in 1999. In February 1999, the wife of the businessman, who lived in Simferopol, appealed to law enforcers and said that her husband had been kidnapped, and the criminals demanded $50 thousand for his return. Then it was not possible to find the kidnapped businessman and attackers.
A criminal case on the fact of the incident was initiated in 2014. In November 2024 established the involvement of three citizens in the crime. Among them, two men and one woman. At the moment, two of the defendants are serving a life sentence in a colony, and the woman is listed as dead.
