Peskov calls Russian accusations of cable breaks in the Baltic Sea absurd

Russia has nothing to do with the cable breakage and it is absurd to accuse it of this. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on November 20.
"Look, it's quite absurd to continue blaming Russia for everything without any grounds. This is the first thing. The second is probably ridiculous, for example, against the background of the lack of any reaction to Ukraine's sabotage activities in the Baltic Sea," Peskov said.
He pointed out that it is Kiev that prefers to engage in acts of sabotage, recalling the Nord Stream bombings.
The day before, on November 19, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented to Izvestia on The Times ' accusations of Russia 's sabotage of the Baltic telecommunications cable C-Lion1. She advised countries concerned about their security to properly reallocate their funds, including for domestic needs, rather than sponsoring the Kiev regime.
Thebreakage of the communication cable between Lithuania and Sweden, laid on the bottom of the Baltic Sea, became known on November 18. According to preliminary data, the wire was cut, an investigation is underway. The company Telia Lietuva indicated that the damaged cable is quite old and there have already been several accidents with it. It was noted that no cases of sabotage at the site had been recorded before.
