- Polish presidential candidate criticized Kiev's permission to strike deep into Russian Federation

Allowing Ukraine to use US ballistic missiles ATACMS to strike deep into Russian territory does not correspond to the interests of Poland. This was stated on November 20 by Slawomir Mentzen, a presidential candidate in Poland from the Confederation coalition of nationalists and Euroskeptics, on the air of the Polsat TV channel.
"Poland should not be interested in escalating this war, because we are the most at risk here outside of Ukraine. If this conflict moves anywhere, it will move to Poland," he said.
Mentzen suggested that authorizing the use of U.S. missiles on Russian territory would prolong the conflict and lead to more losses for Ukraine.
"A green light from Washington will contribute to prolonging the war, and this will lead to the depletion of Ukrainian 'manpower,'" he concluded.
On the eve, US Senator Rand Paul said that current US President Joe Biden 's authorization for Ukraine to use US ballistic missiles to strike deep into Russian territories contradicts the US Constitution.
Earlier, on November 17, The New York Times reported that Biden had allegedly authorized Ukraine to use US long-range missiles to strike Russia. Le Figaro newspaper wrote at the same time that the French and British authorities had made a similar decision, but then removed this information from the article.
The head of the European Union diplomatic service Josep Borrell said on November 18 that the U.S. administration had lifted restrictions on strikes with U.S. missiles at a distance of up to 300 kilometers deep into Russian territory. At the same time, Deputy National Security Advisor to the US President John Feiner did not confirm that Washington had given such authorization to Kiev. The official emphasized that the White House bases its decisions on the situation on the battlefield.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the possible authorization for Ukraine to use ATACMS for strikes on Russian territory, pointed out that such a move by the USA would become a qualitatively new round of tension, and Moscow 's position on this issue is clear to everyone.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine against the backdrop of Russia's special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022. The decision to conduct it was taken by the Russian president because of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
The next presidential election will be held in Poland in 2025. The date is still unknown.
