Russian air defenses destroyed five unmanned aerial vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over three regions of Russia on the morning of 20 November. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"From 08:00 to 10:00 the next attempts of the Kiev regime to commit terrorist attacks with the use of aircraft-type UAVs on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation were suppressed," the ministry said.

It is specified that three Ukrainian drones were eliminated over the territory of the Bryansk region, and over the territories of Belgorod and Orel regions - one UAV each.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that air defense forces destroyed 44 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions. It was noted that 20 drones were shot down over the territory of the Novgorod region, five UAVs - in the sky over the Kursk region, four - over the Orel region. Three drones each were shot down over the Belgorod, Tula and Tver regions and two were destroyed over the territories of the Bryansk, Moscow and Smolensk regions.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
