Moscow has started accepting applications for the contest "Golden Spike 2025" dedicated to the development of the VDNKh territory. This was announced by the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin, specifying that teams from Russia and abroad, which work in the field of architecture, design and restoration, are waiting for participation.
"The competition is held for the third time. This year's theme is "The best project to recreate the historic pavilions of VDNKh", - wrote the mayor in his Telegram-channel. - The choice is offered to one of the historical buildings: pavilions "Hunting and animal breeding", "Glavpivo", "Ural", "Ice Cream" or the Bolshoi Cinema".
Applications will be accepted until the end of January next year. As noted on the competition page on the VDNKh website, the objectives of the competition are "to identify the best projects for the development of objects and zones on the territory of VDNKh, which will emphasize the uniqueness of the territory" of the exhibition. In addition, the competition is held to form "a base of creative ideas and proposals for renovation, regeneration and modernization of zones, sites and objects" of the complex.
The winners and runners-up will be named by August 1, 2025. The prize-winning participants will be awarded diplomas, winner statuettes and cash prizes. The prize money for the winner will amount to 300 thousand rubles.
