Japan has increased car deliveries to Russia by one and a half times


Exports of passenger cars from Japan to Russia increased almost one and a half times. At the end of October, deliveries increased by 45.8% compared to the same period last year. This was reported on November 20 by TASS with reference to the data of the Japanese Ministry of Finance.
It is not specified exactly how many cars were shipped to Russia in mid-autumn. In addition to cars, Japan also increased exports of spare parts and components for vehicles to Russia by 27%.
On November 11, it was reported that Japan clarified sanctions language, opening access for Russians to import cars with mild hybrid propulsion systems. November 7, it became known that during October 2024 in Russia imported 112 thousand new passenger cars. This figure was a record for the last 12 years. Before that, more new cars for the month was imported in August 2012 (about 120 thousand). Starting from May this year, car imports have been steadily growing from month to month, and since August they have been setting new records.
