A criminal case has been opened in Krasnoyarsk over the fact of poisoning of at least 23 students of one of the city schools. This was reported on November 20 by the Department of Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Khakassia.
According to investigators, 23 students from 1st to 11th grades went to hospital with signs of intestinal infection on November 19. The preliminary diagnosis made by doctors is rotavirus infection. It was established that the day before the children had eaten in the school canteen.
A criminal case under part 1 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the safety requirements of life and health of consumers") has been initiated, as reported in the Telegram-channel of the department.
The regional department of Rospotrebnadzor reported that a sanitary and epidemiological investigation is being conducted after a suspected acute intestinal infection in pupils of school No. 76 - two of the sick were hospitalized.
"Two of the sick are hospitalized, the rest are undergoing outpatient treatment. It is worth noting that the cases are recorded among students of different classes", - stated in the Telegram-channel of the Department.
Specialists intend to establish cause-and-effect relationships of diseases among children. To do this, they will take samples of finished products, will make washes from objects, as well as examine employees involved in the preparation and distribution of food.
Earlier, on November 18, the Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia reported that children at school № 1512 were poisoned after drinking water from the cooler. A criminal case was initiated. The director of the institution stated that the children were diagnosed with intestinal infection, Rospotrebnadzor suspended the school. The agency reported that the students were found to have RNA of norovirus type 2, 30 people from 12 classes applied for help.
The same day PCR-research of water from sealed bottles in the school showed that there were no viruses in it. It is specified that no one needed hospitalization, Rospotrebnadzor also took food samples from the school for investigation, and the staff took tests.
