In Russia, pensions for working and non-working citizens of the country will be raised from January 1, 2025. This was announced on Wednesday, November 20, by Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs.

"From January 1, the pension will be increased for both working and non-working Russians. The insurance pension will be increased by 7.3%," - quotes the words of the politician Lenta.ru.

Bessarab noted that the government will be able to increase this figure until February 1, 2025, if the indexation does not correspond to the inflation rate. In addition, social pensions will be further increased by 14.75% from April 1, 2025.

On the eve of the Deputy of the Moscow Regional Duma, Chairman of the Union of Pensioners of the region Anatoly Nikitin said that the fair size of the pension for non-working Russians in 2025 should be 40% of the average salary at the moment. He suggested that the minimum pension amount across the country should be set at the level of 35 thousand rubles.

From January 1, 2024, the average pension for Russians after indexation by 7.5% is 23,405 rubles.
