Trump has proposed nominating Linda McMahon to be U.S. Secretary of Education

US President-elect Donald Trump proposed to appoint Linda McMahon, who headed the US Small Business Administration during Trump's first term as head of state, as the country's Secretary of Education. This was reported by CNN on November 19.

"Linda will use her years of leadership experience and deep understanding of both education and business to empower the next generation of American students and workers and make America the number one education country in the world. We will bring education back to the states, and Linda will lead that effort," the TV station quoted Trump's statement as saying.

It is noted that McMahon could have headed the U.S. Department of Commerce, but the post was nominated investor and billionaire Howard Lutnick.

Earlier in the day, Trump said that the American billionaire and investor Howard Lutnick will become the new US Secretary of Commerce. In his opinion, Lutnick will be able to create a system in the field of tariffs and trade, which will help in the formation of the financial policy of the country.

Prior to that, on November 18, Trump nominated Brendan Carr to become chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Carr immediately reacted to the appointment by thanking the honor.

On November 13, Trump announced that American entrepreneurs Ilon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will head the new U.S. government efficiency department.

On November 12, Trump also made a number of appointments. He nominated Fox News host Pete Hegseth to head the Department of Defense. And announced that former US National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe would become head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) under the new administration.

The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%.
