Air defense forces shot down 42 UAVs over the territories of six Russian regions

Air defense forces have shot down 42 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the territories of the Bryansk, Smolensk, Moscow, Kursk, Orel and Rostov regions. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 20.
"From 21:00 to 23:55 during the Kiev regime's attempt to carry out a terrorist attack with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation, 42 Ukrainian UAVs of airplane type were destroyed by air defense means on duty," the ministry said in a statement in its Telegram channel.
The Defense Ministry explained that 32 Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed over the territory of the Bryansk region, five over the territory of the Smolensk region, two over the territory of the Moscow region and one drone was shot down each over the territories of the Kursk, Orel and Rostov regions.
Earlier, on November 19, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that air defense forces destroyed three drones over three regions of Russia. It is specified that the attacks were carried out from 20:00 to 21:00 Moscow time by airplane-type drones.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
