The US Department of State has approved a $100m order for the maintenance of US equipment used by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported on November 19 in the Agency for Security Cooperation under the US Department of Defense.

"The State Department has made a decision to approve the possible sale by foreign militaries to the government of Ukraine of a comprehensive order for the provision of systems supplied by the US Army and related equipment worth $100 million," the report said.

It is specified that the Ukrainian government has asked the USA to purchase equipment and services for the repair of transportation equipment.

Earlier, on November 14, Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh said that the USA intends to supply Ukraine with all the weapons promised by US leader Joe Biden before he leaves office.

Prior to that, on November 12, Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder told a briefing that the United States has $9.3 billion in agreed aid to Ukraine. Ryder said that because the U.S. Department of Defense understands the urgency of the situation because of the situation on the battlefield, it will continue to do everything it can to make sure Ukraine has everything it needs.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to defend Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022. The decision to conduct it was made by the Russian president because of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
