Trump has nominated investor Howard Lutnick to be Commerce Secretary


American billionaire and investor Howard Lutnick will become the new U.S. Secretary of Commerce. This was announced on November 19 by American President-elect Donald Trump on his page on Truth Social, a social network he owns.
"I am pleased to announce that Howard Lutnick, Chairman and CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald (a financial company), will join my administration as Secretary of Commerce," Trump said in an official statement.
The president-elect specified that Latnick will be able to create a system in the field of tariffs and trade, which will help in shaping the country's financial policy.
Earlier on Nov. 18, Trump nominated Brendan Carr to serve as chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Carr immediately reacted to the appointment by thanking the honor.
On November 13, Trump announced that American entrepreneurs Ilon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will head the new US government efficiency department.
Prior to that, on November 12, Trump also made a number of appointments. He nominated Fox News host Pete Hegseth to head the Secretary of Defense. And announced that former US National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe would become head of the Central Intellig ence Agency (CIA) under the new administration.
The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the cessation of military conflicts in the world.
