The head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen climbed over a fence on the street in Rio de Janeiro during the G20 summit. A video of the European politician, shot by an eyewitness, was published in her Telegram channel by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

"On the streets of Rio saw Ursula," Zakharova signed the clip.

The footage shows von der Leyen in sportswear with a group of other people climbing over a street barrier and heading toward the beach. The operator ironically comments on what is happening.

Earlier, on November 17, US President Joe Biden, speaking in the Amazon jungle in Brazil on the topic of climate change, abruptly turned around and went into the forest. The publication specified that the American leader did this intentionally to participate in a photo shoot that would help draw attention to the death of forests due to climate change.

Later that day, Biden did not walk the red carpet at the G20 summit, as other leaders did, but chose to go his own way. The venue, where the Brazilian president and first lady are waiting to greet guests, is accessed by a long red carpet that the leaders of the participating countries walk on. The U.S. president, stepping out of his car, instead of walking past the honor guard, turned aside with his protocol escort. A few minutes later, Biden was shown already upstairs, he came out of a side door and headed towards his Brazilian counterpart.

The G20 summit is taking place November 18-19 in the Brazilian capital and is dedicated to "building a just world and a sustainable planet." Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov headed the Russian delegation at the summit.
