A nutritionist compared real and imitation red caviar

Rimmarita Clinic chief physician, candidate of medical sciences, nutritionist, doctor of preventive integrative medicine Rimma Moisenko compared real and imitated red caviar on Tuesday, November 19.
According to the doctor, imitated caviar contains sodium alginate - a kind of algae that brings a large amount of sodium to the human body, calcium chloride and colorants both natural and artificial.
"Real caviar has vitamin A, vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids and all the antioxidants. There is protein with all the essential amino acids. But imitated caviar, unfortunately, can't boast of this today: there is no protein, no amino acids, no vitamins A, E, D," - said the expert in conversation with "Radio 1".
She added that imitated caviar is a mix of caviar juice, coloring agents and a large amount of salt.
"Unfortunately, such caviar does not enrich with vitamins and trace elements that are in real caviar. And we realize with you that, despite the cheapness, such caviar will not be useful," Moisenko concluded.
November 15, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries Vasily Sokolov said that the situation with the rise in price of red caviar before the New Year holidays is inadequate, as last year's poutine was a record, reports 360.ru.
He said that there is no shortage of red caviar on the market. In his opinion, reports about the shortage of the delicacy were spread by entrepreneurs, RT reports.
Earlier, on November 14, Izvestia wrote that the majority of Russians surveyed (76%) would like to eat fish more often. At the same time, citizens would mostly like to increase the consumption of trout, salmon, salmon and pink salmon. This is stated in the results of the survey of the All-Russian Center for Public Opinion Research (VTsIOM) and INARCTICA company on the topic "Key aspects of red fish consumption in the Russian market in 2024".
In October, Chairman of the Fish Union (unites more than 30 production and processing enterprises of the fishing industry) Alexander Panin said that there will be no shortage of red caviar in 2024 in Russia. The supply of the product on the domestic market will exceed the volume of consumption, he added.
