The investigation into the case of embezzlement on ferries against Timur Ivanov has been completed

The investigation into the criminal case of embezzlement on ferries for the Kerch crossing against former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov has been completed. This information was confirmed to "Izvestia" by his defense on November 19.

It is specified that the terms for familiarization of the defense side with the case materials are currently being established.

Ivanov is accused of embezzling Br3.2 billion from the bank "Interkommerts" and embezzlement of Br200 million in the purchase of two ferries for the Kerch crossing.

Earlier, on October 7, the former deputy defense minister was charged with two new charges. He is charged with two episodes of embezzlement on a large scale, one of them concerns the embezzlement of funds of the bank "Interkommerts" in the amount of more than Br3.2 billion. Before that, on October 5, it became known that the criminal case against Ivanov on charges of embezzlement in the construction of facilities includes a cadet corps in Tver. It was reported that Ivanov could have received a bribe for the conclusion of contracts on favorable terms for the company "Olimpsitistroy" in the construction of three buildings.

The detention of the former deputy defense minister became known on April 23. The next day he was arrested. Ivanov is accused of taking a bribe in the amount of 1.185 billion rubles. According to the investigation, he entered into a criminal conspiracy with the heads of contractors working at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense, and signed contracts with them in exchange for illegal personal remuneration. On June 20, he was dismissed from his post.

Also in the criminal case, a friend of the former deputy minister Sergei Borodin and co-founder of Olimpsitistroy Alexander Fomin were taken into custody. On September 28, it became known that the investigation of Ivanov, accused of bribery, was extended until December 23, 2024.
