The head of AvtoVAZ admitted that the price of Lada cars will rise in 2025

In 2025, AvtoVAZ may continue to index prices for Lada cars. The head of the company Maxim Sokolov told about it on the sidelines of the forum-exhibition "Transport of Russia", TASS reports on November 19.

As the top manager pointed out, now the main factor in the growth of production costs is the interest rate, which is based on the key rate.

"This is the first factor that will influence indexation, and possibly even price growth next year. Although prices are, of course, 'pinned down' by the market, but nevertheless," Sokolov said and noted that the second factor is the continued growth of the dollar exchange rate against the ruble.

Since November 2023, the indexation of average prices of Lada cars amounted to 4.3%, reminded the head of AvtoVAZ and noted that the indexation of car prices is below inflation. He called the merit of this the suppliers of component base for cars.

Earlier in the day, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov said that the annual production volume of AvtoVAZ in the next six years can be increased to 700 thousand cars per year. Earlier in November, following the results of the meeting of the Board of Directors, AvtoVAZ said that the company will produce 500 thousand Lada cars at the end of the current year.
