Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said during a press conference ahead of a meeting with EU foreign ministers and the future head of EU diplomacy Kaja Kallas that the largest European Union (EU) countries agreed to shoulder the burden of military and financial support for Kiev. This was reported by TVP Info on the social network X (former Twitter).

"I note with recognition the readiness of the main EU countries to assume the burden of military and financial assistance to Ukraine in the context of a likely reduction in US involvement," the diplomat said.

Sikorski pointed to the need to compensate by the efforts of the EU countries for the potential reduction of US military assistance to Kiev under future President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly stated his desire to end the conflict.

Earlier, on November 12, the media wrote about Trump's intention to appoint Florida Senator Mark Rubio as Secretary of State. Commenting on this, Americanist Nikita Danyuk told Izvestiya that Rubio, if appointed, would be in favor of reducing aid to Ukraine and continuing sanctions against Russia.
