The State Duma passed a law on write-off of overdue loans for participants of SWOs

The State Duma passed in the second and third readings a bill on writing off overdue loans up to 10 million rubles for participants of the special military operation (SMO) at the conclusion of a contract on military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from December 1, 2024. This was reported on November 19 on the website of the legislative body.

It is specified that we are talking about overdue loans, for which a judicial act on debt collection came into force and enforcement proceedings were initiated. At the same time, circumstances in the amount of no more than Br10 million can be terminated.

According to the document, enforcement obligations will be canceled in the case of death of the mobilized, the court's declaration of his death or disability.

Also increased the period of suspension of fulfillment of the borrower's obligations. At present it is calculated based on the period of service, to which 30 more grace days are added. The adopted document increases the added period to 180 days.

Earlier, on November 14, it was reported that payments for injuries on the NWO differentiated. Now servicemen, who were severely injured, will receive Br3 million each. For a minor injury is entitled to Br1 million, while for other injuries the payment will amount to Br100 thousand.
