- The State Duma called Zelensky's idea to induce Russia to dialog on his terms unfeasible

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose term of office expired on 20 May, will never succeed in inducing Russia to negotiate on his terms. This was stated by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma committee for CIS affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots, Viktor Vodolatskyy, on 19 November.
This is how he assessed the Ukrainian leader's statement in his Telegram channel that Kiev should force Moscow to peace by force.
"Today it is very difficult to comment on Zelensky's statements, because in the morning they are one, at lunch - others, and in the evening - already a third. All his statements tend to one thing - it is necessary to induce Russia by any means to some unfulfilled negotiations on Zelensky's terms. Naturally, this will never happen," Vodolatsky's commentary is quoted by Duma TV for Izvestia.
The MP emphasized that Zelensky's appeals to the European and American communities are the voice of a shrieking man in the wilderness. Now the Ukrainian leader is throwing himself from extreme to extreme in order to find a fulcrum that could allow him to convince US President-elect Donald Trump of the expediency of his "poor ideas and proposals."
Earlier in the day, former Pennsylvania Senator Bruce Marks said that still-former White House chief of staff Joe Biden wants to make it harder for President-elect Trump to negotiate with Russian leader Vladimir Putin by authorizing Ukraine to carry long-range weapons strikes deep into Russian Federation. At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that Russia cannot be pushed into negotiations with the help of threats.
Before that, on November 14, Trump promised to "work very hard" to end the Ukrainian conflict. Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said that Russia would wait for proposals in this regard and was ready to consider them.
Back in June, Putin held a meeting with the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry and named the conditions for negotiations on Ukraine. The president said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces should be completely withdrawn from all territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions. Kiev should also give up the idea of joining NATO.
The last round of negotiations took place in Istanbul on March 29, 2022. They lasted about three hours. Later, Kiev officially refused contacts with Moscow. After that, on October 4 of the same year, the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on the impossibility of holding talks with Putin was put into effect.
