Putin reported the expected exceeding of the budget revenue plan


Budget revenues are expected to be higher than planned, which will make it possible to reduce the deficit. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this during a meeting with the head of the New People faction in the State Duma, Aleksei Nechaev, on November 19.
Nechaev shared that he was concerned about the budget deficit.
"But a small deficit. <...> I think I actually expect that there will be more income, so the deficit will be smaller," the president replied, his words quoted on the Kremlin website.
The head of the New People faction said that the party is now working in parliament to pass the budget. Nechayev said that about 100 billion rubles in the budget next year could be brought, for example, by the policy of "smart protectionism" - the introduction of high duties on goods from unfriendly countries. Previously, this fee amounted to 6%, but now it has reached 35%. The politician is confident that with effective work, this item of budget revenues can bring even more money.
Earlier, on November 14, the State Duma at the meeting adopted in the second reading of the draft federal budget for 2025 and the planning period of 2026-2027. The draft for its second reading was amended by 888 amendments, which were discussed and approved in the joint work of Duma deputies and the government. The draft specifies that in 2025 the expenditures to support the participants of the special military operation and their relatives will increase by 740 million rubles. In addition, 537.5 billion rubles will be allocated for maternity capital.
The document was submitted to Parliament on September 30. Its main purpose is the fulfillment of social obligations to citizens. October 24, the project was adopted in the first reading. It states that in 2025 the federal budget revenues are expected to grow to Br40.296 trillion, which is 11.6% more than in the current year. Federal expenditures will also increase - up to Br41.469 trillion. The largest part of the budget in 2025 will go to defense (32.5%), followed by social policy (15.7%), national economy (10.5%) and national security and law enforcement (8.3%).
