Ovechkin repeats Jagr's historic record in the NHL

Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin, who plays for the Washington Capitals, repeated the record of Czech hockey player, extreme forward Jaromir Jagr, scoring pucks against 178 different goalies in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Ovechkin scored a double in the match between Washington Capitals and Utah, which was held on November 19 in Salt Lake City at the Delta Center Arena and ended 6-2 in favor of the capital club.
The Russian hit the goal of Canadian goaltender Connor Ingram, who became the 178th goalie to be scored on by Ovechkin. Now he shares first place with Jagr in the list of hockey players who scored the most goals in NHL history.
In addition, Ovechkin cut the gap between him and Canadian Wayne Gretzky to 26 goals. The total number of goals scored in the regular season amounted to 868.
However, in the third period, the Russian injured his knee in a collision with Utah forward Jack McBain and was forced to leave the ice with the help of another player. Washington Capitals coach Spencer Carbery later revealed that Ovechkin was being examined after the injury. According to him, details on the hockey player's condition should be expected by tomorrow.
The day before, the Washington Capitals defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 5-2 in an NHL away game. Ovechkin made a hat trick for the game (6th, 38th and 60th minutes). Jacob Chikran (13th) and Jakub Vraga (23rd) scored another goal each for the capital club. Brett Howden (20th) and Keegan Kolesar (28th) scored for the Golden Knights, with their goalie Ilya Samsonov deflecting 20 shots
