AvtoVAZ may increase production up to 700 thousand cars per year

Annual production volumes of AvtoVAZ may be increased to 700 thousand cars per year in the next six years. This was told by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy.

"The plans are to reach the level of up to 700 thousand within six years, and maybe more, depending on what the market conditions will be," Alikhanov said.

Earlier in November, following the results of the meeting of the Board of Directors, AvtoVAZ said that at the end of the current year it will produce 500 thousand Lada cars. This volume is another maximum for the last 10 years, and for the second year in a row AvtoVAZ provides break-even and financial stability, the company said.

AvtoVAZ's production plan for 2025 assumes the output of 500,000 cars. The investment program of the company for the next year will exceed 45 billion rubles, the bulk of these funds will go to development work on automotive projects and powertrains, as well as the development of facilities.

November 15, it was reported that the start of production of a new family of cars Lada Iskra is scheduled for spring 2025. Iskra in the model range of the brand will occupy a niche between the affordable Granta and more expensive Vesta. The model will be available in sedan, station wagon and Cross body styles.

November 2, AvtoVAZ announced that at the end of October in Russia was sold 42.9 thousand cars and light commercial vehicles Lada. This is 4.8% more than in October last year, and 3.3% more than in September this year. Total for 10 months sales amounted to 377.9 thousand passenger and commercial vehicles of the brand (+33.3% compared to the same period last year).
