A young lynx strolled through the streets of the village of Tselinniy, Krasnokamensky district, Zabaikalsky Krai. The wild animal was spotted by local residents, reported in the Telegram channel of the regional government on Tuesday, November 19.

"To go beyond the characteristic habitat at a distance of 10-20 km for the lynx is not a problem, although they live mainly in forest areas. The terrain itself (near the village of Tselinniy. - Ed.) is not absolutely steppe, there are small ridges", - said senior researcher of the laboratory of geography and regional nature management of the Institute of Natural Resources Yuri Bazhenov.

According to the specialist, young lynxes are inexperienced and sometimes come out to populated areas, but such cases are isolated. Bazhenov also emphasized that the big cat itself is not dangerous.

As noted by IA ChitaMedia, it is not necessary to approach the lynx, and in case of aggression and attack on pets - call the district game warden.

Earlier in November it was reported that in Khakassia rescued a lynx, which dogs drove to the electric pole. It is assumed that the animal lived at someone's home, as it is not afraid of people. Now the animal is under quarantine in the Wildlife Center.
