Fraudsters are mass-mailing phishing links to Telegram users disguised as a gift in the form of a premium version of the messenger. This was reported on November 19 by the department for organizing the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Russian Interior Ministry in Telegram-channel.

According to the agency, attackers gain access to people's accounts by clicking on a link. Users enter a cell phone number and password, after which the hacking takes place.

Law enforcement agencies urged citizens to be vigilant.

Earlier, on November 16, honored lawyer of Russia Ivan Solovyov reported that phone scammers invented a new scheme to hack accounts on "Gosuslugi" and other services. They operate in two stages under the guise of employees of the Russian Post and law enforcement agencies.
