Chinese car sales set a new record in Russia

In October 2024, Russia set a record for sales of new passenger cars of Chinese brands in a month. This was reported by the analytical agency "Avtostat" on November 19.

A total of 98.2 thousand new passenger cars of brands from China were sold in mid-autumn. The previous maximum was noted a month earlier, in September, when 93.2 thousand of such cars were sold.

Record sales in October were recorded by a number of car brands, including Haval, Geely, Jetour, GAC and Hongqi.

Sales of Chinese models popular among Russians also set new records last month. For example, Haval Jolion sales in October amounted to 11.4 thousand copies. Also noted Geely Monjaro, Haval F7, Haval H3, Jetour Dashing, GAC GS8 and Haval H9.

On the eve it became known that more often than others , those Russians who already have such a car are ready to buy a car of the Chinese brand. This statement was made by 70% of respondents. According to the results of the study, on average among car owners the level of readiness to buy a car made in China is 34%.

On November 15, it was reported that the main factors of attractiveness of the Chinese car 90% of Russians call the design, and 69% note its technology. Analysts said that carsharing has had a positive impact on the awareness of Russians about car brands from China.
