Viktor Slivynskyy, a prisoner of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), spoke on November 19 about the depressed state of Ukrainian army soldiers.

"The morale of the majority has fallen, because our company is kind of basically gone. We're already sick of everything, to be honest," he stated.

In addition, Slivinsky said that while in combat positions, AFU soldiers "did nothing, just sat there." According to him, they could not fight back because no one was covering them.

"You sit, here bam, there bam, there bam, there bam, and there is practically no response from our side," said the AFU prisoner.

Earlier, on November 18, the captured AFU fighter Viktor Shpileva said that the command of the Ukrainian army treats its soldiers as "cannon fodder." He specified that they abandoned them sent them "one way", dropping the fighters without training on the shelled territory.

In April, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired on May 20) signed a law on toughening mobilization. In particular, he lowered the age of mobilization from 27 to 25 and signed a law on the creation of an electronic register of persons liable for military service, which combines information on the personal data of Ukrainians, including details of domestic and foreign passports. There are no provisions on demobilization in the documents.

Martial law in the country has been in effect since February 2022. At the same time Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended its effect. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country.
