Law enforcers detained two suspects in the bombing of an officer's car in Sevastopol

FSB officers have detained two Russians who committed a terrorist attack on Navy officer Valeriy Trankovskiy in Sevastopol. This was reported on November 19 by the Public Relations Center (PRC) of the Federal Security Service of Russia and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

"As a result of joint special measures carried out with officers of the FSB of Russia, two residents of the peninsula directly involved in the commission of a terrorist act on behalf of the security service of Ukraine were established. They are 38-year-old resident of Sevastopol and 47-year-old resident of Yalta", - stated in the message of the IC.

According to the investigation, the detained woman conducted surveillance of Trankovskiy to establish his addresses, routes of movement, daily routine and used transportation. Her accomplice manufactured, installed under the bottom of the car and detonated an explosive device, fulfilling the task of Ukrainian handlers.

The Russian Federal Security Service indicated that the explosion was carried out remotely. During the search in the garage of the detainee was found another ready-to-use improvised explosive device with 1.2 kg of explosives in TNT equivalent.

Now the defendants are cooperating with law enforcement authorities and giving confessions. At the same time, the IC together with special services are working out the maximum possible range of those involved in the crime. The investigation into the criminal case of the terrorist attack and illegal trafficking of explosives continues.

Earlier, on November 13, a car exploded in Sevastopol on Shevchenko Street. It was noted that the cause of the explosion could be an improvised explosive device. Eyewitnesses said that they helped to extinguish the vehicle and rescue the driver from the cabin.

Later, the governor of the city Mikhail Razvozhayev said that as a result of the explosion killed a serviceman of the Russian army. A criminal case was opened over the incident.
