A magnitude 5.7 earthquake has been recorded off the coast of the Kingdom of Tonga


An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 was recorded off the coast of the Kingdom of Tonga in the South Pacific Ocean. This was reported on November 19 by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center(EMSC).
The origin of the earthquake lay at a depth of 10 km, 61 km from the capital, the city of Nuku'alofa. No tsunami threat was announced in the region, there was no information about casualties or destruction.
Earlier, on November 17, an earthquake with magnitude 5.5 occurred off the coast of Kamchatka. Epicenter of the earthquake, which was recorded at 8:55 (November 16, 23:55 Moscow time), was located 101 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The depth was 47.6 km under the sea.
