Paraguayan President Santiago Peña was hospitalized from the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro due to complaints of chest pain. This was reported by the portal Última Hora on November 18.

According to the publication, the president with pain in the precordial area was hospitalized at the Medical Center of the Museum of Modern Art (MAM), from where after an electrocardiogram he was taken by ambulance to the private hospital "Samaritano" in Rio de Janeiro.

It is reported that Peña will remain under the care of doctors for the next 24 hours. At the same time, in the next few hours, the hospital will issue a medical report on the state of health of the Paraguayan president.

Earlier, on November 15, the former president of Poland was hospitalized due to heart problems. Walesa served as president of the republic from 1990 to 1995.
