In Zaporizhzhya Region, a Hyacinth-B gun crew of the Dnipro group of troops has hit a camouflaged howitzer M777 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Orekhovskyi direction. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 19.

Artillerymen are on alert round the clock. The coordinates of the target, a NATO-made M777 howitzer, which gave itself away by striking the positions of the Russian Armed Forces, the fighters receive from aerial reconnaissance means.

"Counter-battery warfare, that is, when identifying enemy guns or when enemy guns are already directly working, we are given a target, we have to move out and work on it," shared a gun commander with the call sign Khan.

Fire correction is made with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The targets of the howitzer are both self-propelled armored vehicles and fortified positions of the AFU, defensive structures, control points or firepower.

Earlier, on November 18, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Uragan MLRS systems hit a cluster of AFU equipment in the South Donetsk direction. After the firing, the crews proceeded to a quick change of firing positions, making a counter-fire maneuver to avoid being hit by the enemy's counter-battery fire.

The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
