Deputy Defense Minister awards fighters who distinguished themselves during the liberation of Ugledar

Russian Deputy Defense Minister and head of the country's Main Military and Political Directorate Colonel-General Viktor Goremykin has presented state awards to servicemen of the Vostok group of troops who distinguished themselves during the liberation of Ugledar in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on November 19.

"You earned these awards in the battles for Ugledar, showing courage, bravery, bravery, loyalty to the oath, military duty and loyalty to Russia," Goremykin said.

The deputy minister presented the fighters on the front line with the Order of Courage, medals "For Bravery", "For Bravery", St. George's Crosses and insignia for assault actions.

"The task of storming and clearing the forest clearing was set. Faced with the enemy, in one of the dugouts accumulated up to five men. I decided to outflank him. We moved out, distributed people. And myself, respectively, having made a dash, came closer to the dugout and threw a couple of grenades to them", - said the scout Sergei about what he received the award for.

After the ceremony Goremykin talked to the servicemen. During the conversation with the deputy minister, they noted that the strength of the Russian army lies in unity.

Earlier, on November 2, Grad multiple rocket launchers of the Eastern Group of Forces destroyed camouflaged positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) near Ugledar. The 122-millimeter shells struck the positions of Ukrainian militants, the enemy lost personnel and equipment.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
