Molniya-2 UAVs hit AFU equipment in the border area of Kursk region

The calculations of the newest unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Molniya-2 aircraft type of the "North" group of troops have hit armored and automotive equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 19.
At the same time, the UAV calculations successfully hit not only military equipment, but also places of accumulation of the enemy's manpower.
According to the ministry, servicemen of the "North" group of troops use various UAVs in the course of destroying small mobile groups of the AFU in the Kursk border area - from conventional FPV drones to aircraft-type kamikazes, including aircraft-type drones Molniya-2. For example, fighters of one of the units of the Northern Group of Forces use both the first version of Molniya and its improved version Molniya-2, which can be compared to the Lancet barrage munition. Such drones fly significantly farther than conventional FPV drones. Also, the "Molniya-2" UAV is equipped with a catapult. The "Molniya" is controlled by a remote control and special goggles, just like the FPV drone.
It is reported that Russian servicemen change their basing point every new launch to remain undetected by the enemy.
The Russian Defense Ministry added that controlling an airplane-type drone requires skills in flying aircraft and special knowledge of aerodynamics.
"We conduct training in combat conditions. Now I am controlling the "bird", showing the second crew how to steer, how to navigate, how to make a takeoff. Before that they showed how to expose the equipment," said the UAV sapper-operator with the call sign Osha.
Earlier, on November 16, servicemen of the "North" group of forces destroyed a hideout with AFU man power in the forest area of the Kursk border region with an FPV drone.
It was also reported that the Russian Armed Forces hit 14 Ukrainian brigades, as well as enemy personnel and military equipment in four settlements in the Kursk border area. In total, the enemy lost more than 32.9 thousand servicemen in the region during the hostilities.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
