Two people killed and one injured in knife attacks in New York City

Two people were killed and another seriously injured after a series of knife attacks in Manhattan. This was reported on November 18 by ABC News television channel with reference to the New York police.

According to law enforcement, the suspect chose victims at random. First, in the early morning he attacked a 36-year-old man near a construction site, then a couple hours later stabbed a 68-year-old man and stabbed several 36-year-old woman. The latter is in critical condition.

The police said that the suspect has been detained. According to the authorities, this is the ninth time he has been arrested and is believed to have serious mental health issues. An investigation is underway, during which two bloody knives were recovered.

Earlier on Nov. 16, a knife attack at a college in China left eight people dead and 17 others injured. The suspect in the attack, Xu Mujin, a college graduate, was detained on the spot. According to preliminary data, he returned to school and stabbed after he failed his exams and did not receive a certificate.
